Each Farm has its visiting guidelines. Some do not allow pets. It would be best if you make some inquiries before the visit.
I’ve rounded up 12 apple farms within Brooklyn that you’d wish to visit; grab your empty baskets and hit the road.
1. Demarest Farms

Apple-picking marks the beginning of the fall season, and you don’t want to miss out on the amazing taste of apple cider, pie, and many more products made from apples.
Head down to the orchards and pick the delicious apple from the trees at Demarest Farms! Their apple varieties include Cortland, gala, Honeycrisp, SnapDragon, Cameo, Golden Delicious, Empire, and Mutsu, among others.
Besides apple picking, the farm offers peach picking and pumpkin picking. Its market also offers several plant products and freshly baked goodies, making it one of the best spots for families to have fun.
For animal lovers, Demarest Farm offers personalized movie viewing and zooming. You’ll get access to the petting zoo, playground, and orchards for a small fee. Drive down and fill your weekends with fun outside the city.
The farm is open daily from 8 am to 5 pm during apple picking season.
2. Dr. Davis Farm

Dr. Davis Farm is an amazing apple orchard tucked away on the side of Rockland county. For all your delicious fall desserts, drive down there.
The Farm offers over 20 apple varieties from more than 4000 trees; all spread out on a 55-acre piece of land.
This farm has been a common trip site for school pupils for a long time. It accepts only cash and checks for payments, so be informed if you’re a first-time visitor.
The farm also has ways to aid disabled guests, such as special accommodations and apple picking poles for hire. Therefore, don’t leave behind your disabled friend or family member on that day!
It opens daily on labor day weekend for apple picking, but you have to book your slot early before the visit. If you’re looking for a place to visit during weekdays, this is not!
3. Fishkill Farms

For this apple picking season, head on to Fishkill Farm located on the east side of Fishkill, Newyork.
The orchard spreads over a 270-acre land owned by the Morgenthau family for more than 100 years.
Fishkill Farm offers different types of apples alongside many other fruits and vegetables throughout the year.
It’s designed to offer educational opportunities for kids. Besides getting the fresh outdoor air, they can learn where the food they always find on their tables comes from!
Apple picking is on reservation only.
Apart from the apple picking months, where the farm’s operation is fully switched to farming, you can book for private events such as birthday parties and weddings.
You’ll also get hayrides and tractor rides and some fresh cider and gut-wrenching donuts during the events.
4. Lawrence Farms Orchards

Make a day out with your family by driving down to Lawrence Farm Orchards for an amazing apple picking experience. Here, you’ll go bonkers picking various apples such as Ozark Gold, Zesta, Gala, and Ginger Gold.
The farm charges $5 per head, including children above two years. Like several other apple-picking farms near NYC, call ahead of your visit to book your slot.
You’ll need some cash for payments or be ready to pay an extra fee of 4% for paying using any other method. Also, the farm is a no go zone for pets.

Harvest Moon Farm and Orchard, a family-owned apple farm, welcomes its major harvest season with juicy apples of different varieties.
You’ll want to be part of this orchard’s biggest time of the year. Consider bringing your family along with you to Harvest Moon Farm, where you’ll enjoy not only an apple-picking experience but also animal products- meat and dairy.
There are several fun points within the farm and a restaurant featuring an expansive breakfast menu and delicious lunch bites. The fun, however, is restricted to weekends only.
Harvest Moon Orchard is open throughout the week from 9 am-5 pm.
6. Apple Ridge Orchards

Apple Ridge Farm is a scenic and homey pick your Farm; you don’t want to miss out during the fall season.
It is situated a few miles away from New York City, spreading across Hudson and Warwick valleys.
The farm features spectacular views and a wide range of tasty apple varieties you wish to taste. It even has dwarf trees that your young ones can reach. It’s perfect for a fun day of farm adventures!
Apple Ridge charges only $3 per head, including kids aged 2 yrs and above. The fee covers the orchard’s entrance and parking, petting zoo, farm stand, and play area.
It is open to the public from Friday to Sunday (9 am to 6 pm) and during all public holidays, with no reservations needed.
7. Wilkens Fruit & Fir Farm

For an outstanding fun day experience, head out with your loved ones to Wilkens Fruit & Fir Farm.
The farm sells apples, pumpkins, and peaches, which you can pick yourself from the trees. Other than picking fruits, Wilkens also offers choose-n-cut Christmas trees.
Its three markets offer products from their farm, such as pressed cider, freshly baked pies, and apple cider donuts.
You can also buy your loved ones’ gift items from the markets.
While Wilkens doesn’t charge any entrance or parking fee, you will pay a minimum amount to buy the fruits if you’re entering the Orchard.
If you visit this farm, you’ll find more than 20 apple varieties, including; Gravenstein, Redfree, Northern Spy, Snow Banana, Pink Lady, Granny Smith, and Braeburn.
Apple picking kicks off at the beginning of September. It opens from Wednesday through Monday from 10 am-4:30 for PYO.
8. Wickham’s Fruit Farms

The farm offers a variety of apples sitting on over 120 acres of land. Any time you pay a visit to this farm, you’ll be sure to stock Early Golds, Pristine, and Ginger Golds.
To ensure their clients always get the freshest apples, Barton rotates the picking points within the farm.
In Barton Orchards, you only pay for what you pick! To add more joy, there are many fun activities on the apple picking spot, such as a dog park, petting zoo, and a Tap Room that offers local beer, wine, and cider, graced with beautiful outside sitting areas.
It opens from 11 pm to 6 pm from Sundays to Thurs Mon – Thurs: 11:00 am to 6:00 pm, Fri 11:00 am to 8:00 pm, Sat 10:00 am to 8:00 pm, Sun 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Alstede Farm offers outstanding facilities for events like weddings, birthdays, and other parties. It would be best if you make your reservation ahead of the visit for exceptional services.

In Stuart’s Farm, apple picking begins in September, running daily through to November- 10 am to 5 pm.
You can take a hayride around the orchard and enjoy their delicious cider pie donuts and homemade.
You can also pass by and picnic in the fall foliage with your family before heading home. It doesn’t charge entry or parking fees to add to the beauty.
You only pay for what you pick or use within the farm. It would be best if you also remembered any payments are made through checks or cash only.
12. Golden harvest farms

The farm features beautifully pruned orchards with a modernized irrigation system. Golden Harvest is one of the farms practicing responsible farming.
An integrated pest management system is one of the farming practices employed to ensure a healthy and sustainable orchard for generations to come.
The farm is open from 8am-6pm daily. Watch out for their apple picking season.
