Second annual Brass Bands Festival

Movies with a View is a popular free summer event at this waterfront park. Visitors can enjoy a different film every Thursday in July and August while relaxing on the Pier 1 Harbor View Lawn.
Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy organizes the event. This year, the lawn opens by 6 pm, and movies start playing at sundown. The films showing are:

You don’t need advanced registration to attend, but there are limited spots. The event operates on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to arrive on time. Movies with a View helps film lovers enjoy a summer evening in the park.
Note that you’ll need to bring a blanket to sit on, but dogs and chairs are not allowed. However, the park accommodates people with disabilities and will let you bring in wheelchairs.
Sports Activities
You can enjoy several sports activities at Brooklyn Bridge Park. There are basketball courts, a soccer field, and a volleyball court. Besides these sports, bouldering, kayaking, and fishing are available.
Pier 2 is dedicated to recreational activities and offers ping pong, handball, basketball, bocce, and fitness equipment. The soccer field is located at Pier 5, while the volleyball court is at Pier 6.

You’ll need to register two weeks beforehand to participate in the event. The park reserves the right to cancel kayaking when experiencing unfavorable weather conditions.
Brooklyn Bridge Boathouse and Pier 4 Beach kayaking areas offer single and tandem kayaks for rent. You can also bring your kayak to the park.

Brooklyn Bridge Park Basketball Courts
There are five basketball courts at Pier 2, including two roofed courts. The court hosts free Youth Basketball Clinics on Tuesdays from June to August yearly. Ages 7-12 play from 5 to 6 pm, while ages 13 – 14 play from 6 to 7 pm.
Brooklyn Bridge Park Roller Skating
Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Pier 2 has a roller rink with a stunning view of NYC. The rink occasionally offers themed skating events.
The skating area is open most days in the summer, and admission is free on Mondays and Fridays from 3.30 to 6 pm. Skaters of all ages are admitted for a small fee. You can also rent skatemates or skates.

Taking the Subway
If you’re coming from Manhattan, the easiest way to get to Brooklyn Bridge Park is to take the subway. The park is located near some stations:
- York Street Station: Served by the F train

- Court Street: Served by the 2 and 3 trains
- Borough Hall: Served by the 2, 3, 4, and 5 trains
By Bus

Is the park ADA accessible?
Yes, BBP is accessible to people with disabilities. There are wheelchair-accessible entrances, restrooms, and water fountains throughout the park.
