Crab House Reviews; Menu, Price, Hours, What To Expect

The Crab House is an all-you-can-eat seafood restaurant located in Midtown East, New York. The restaurant serves fresh seafood that is made to order.

While many of their ingredients are caught wild, some are right in the restaurant’s indoor tanks.

As one of the best all-you-can-eat buffets in NYC, the restaurant’s service is great and quick. The staff is nice and attentive. While many all-you-can-eat restaurants sacrifice quality for quantity, the Crab House has a reputation for balancing both.

The restaurant is more on the pricey side considering that most people will probably not end up eating that much and cannot take home leftovers without an additional charge.

But if you love a wide variety of seafood, or you’re prepared to stuff your face with food, or you’re taking advantage of one of their freebies, the Crab House is an excellent choice.

Inside the Crab House

The interior is spacious with wooden walls and decorations like helms on the walls and fishnets above the booths. There are different dining sections, some more private than others, and some rooms reserved for parties with up to 100 guests.

There’s an indoor aquarium where they keep some of the lobsters and crabs to keep them fresh. Overall, the ambiance is nice and classy.

The All-You-Can-Eat Experience

When you’ve been seated at a booth or dining area, you will be provided with a checklist menu where you can select your preferred options. The chefs will then begin to prepare your selections.

Unlike a typical all-you-can-eat buffet table, your selections will be brought to your table fresh and hot.

Depending on your picks, some dishes are pretty much prepared or finished off right in front of you. Some dishes may be served in pans or baskets and some come with complementary sauces.

The dining time is between 1.5 hours and 2 hours. Within that time, you can ask for as many items as you would like.

You are not charged for any food you cannot finish but you will be charged if you want your leftovers to go. The charge would depend on the amount of food left on your table.
