Lilia is an Italian-style restaurant in Williamsburg that features handmade pasta, wood-fired cooking, seafood, and Italian cocktails. The restaurant used to be a garage but was renovated to give a loft-like appearance.
As one of the most Romantic Restaurants in Brooklyn, the restaurant is notorious for how hard it is to get in and may require up to a month’s reservation in advance.
Lilia is owned by Chef Missy Robbins. Missy Robbins has previously been awarded a Michelin star and the James Beard Foundation’s Best Chef title. She is most famous for her pasta mastery.
She also authors cookbooks on the side. You can order some of her cookbooks right from their website.
Even though Lilia is hyped and often referred to as an upscale restaurant, it has a rather modest and casual vibe. It’s usually packed and busy but has a cozy ambiance with dim lighting.
Lilia New York is one establishment with 3 distinct arms all located in the same space. The arms are Lilia Ristorante, Caffe Lilia, and Lilia Beach.
Lilia Ristorante is the main restaurant that opens at 4 PM. The restaurant has a full bar with seats and operates an open kitchen. There are also regular seats right by the windows.

The café also has an outdoor sitting option that may be more suitable for strollers, personal transportation devices, and pets.
Caffe Lilia offers takeout which you can order on their website. Please note that it is not an order for delivery but an order to schedule a time for pick up.
Some recommended options from Caffe Lilia include:
Soft Serve Gelato
Burrata with Chilies and Basil
The bar has an extensive selection of wine and cocktails. Thankfully, you can sit with the bartenders and ask for recommendations.
The restaurant isn’t particularly famous for its cocktails and many would advise sticking with wine instead; but who better to ask for advice than the mixologists themselves? Some options you may find at the bar include:
There are different outdoor dining options available at Lilia. There’s the outdoor patio and there is the Yurt Village at Lilia Beach which has some tents for an even more intimate dining experience.
The Yurt Village is especially beautiful at night.
How to get a reservation at Lilia
You can make reservations for up to 4 guests from the link on their website.
Or directly on Resy.
It is advisable to try and make reservations 30 days before your preferred date. Even then, you might not find any available space. It really can take weeks or months of stalking their Resy page to finally get a reservation. Try putting on your notifications for any possible cancellations.
Alternatively, you can call the restaurant or go there physically to make inquiries about reservations. It can be quite tedious to be guessing what days are free or not on Resy so you might have better luck in person. You can always ask to be put on their cancel list and cross your fingers.
The restaurant also allows walk-ins and several people have gotten in without prior planning or reservations. You can go to the restaurant like 20mins before it opens to line up outside.
Go on a weekday to increase your chances. But keep in mind that you may not get the best seats since you would have to settle for what is available.
You can book the private dining room at Lilia for your special events. The dining room can accommodate up to 20 guests. It’s a good option for celebrating birthdays and other family gatherings.
