Area 53 is a Brooklyn laser tag, paintball, and adventure park. It is the perfect getaway to enjoy a memorable weekend with family or friends.
Besides, it offers indoor activities, such as paintball, laser tag, climbing walls, skating, pool tables, arcade games, party rooms, etc.
Area 53 has two locations. The laser tag is in Dumbo, Brooklyn, while the adventure park and the paintball are in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
The place is one-of-a-kind to enjoy all the fun and give your kids the chance to be kids and enjoy as much fun as possible. Area 53 is open and welcomes all for an incredible, sweat-breaking, and unforgettable experience.
Area 53: Laser Tag
Area 53 laser tag is the only place that can guarantee you unbeatable fun while in Dumbo.
The laser tag has no age restrictions, but height can hinder some of the fun. You can only be allowed to play if you are 42 inches tall.
While at it, you can only play 20 players at any given session. However, if you need to play with a higher number of players, you can contact them to schedule that. There is fun in numbers. I can attest to that, especially when all your friends are involved.
The games are played in sessions. Each session takes between 1 ½ to a max of 2 hours. Plus, you will have the field to yourself if you’ve booked a private session.
However, for non-private sessions, the laser tag field will be available even to other people that booked the same session. The good thing is that it doesn’t limit the fun. The other groups help spice the games.
You have the liberty to drop players for public sessions, and prices will be adjusted as per the number.
However, the minimum payment must be maintained for private sessions even when players drop out. Adding players for both sessions is allowed.
$7 per person is required for the non-private games to book for the laser games. On the other hand, a 10% deposit is required for the private games.
The balance is then paid during arrival. Once bookings are made, the full sessions will be available. There can’t be any half sessions for the booked sessions. However, a walk-in can get a 1-game play if available.
Area 53 allows bookings four weeks in advance to ensure you don’t miss a session. The place is a local’s favorite, and it can easily crowd. I recommend booking early.
They have an arena and an upper level. The arena is where the real action and fun occur, while the upper level is for the break sessions between the games. There is a lounge area, and you can also take your food, alcohol, and drinks from the upstairs party section.
However, the clean up after your meals and drinks is upon you unless you want to attract a cleaning fee. Also, their price starts at $39 per person on weekdays and $49 during weekends.
I really enjoyed the experience at the Area 53 laser tag. Everything is fun, from the games and the hosts to the team effort. Plus, it’s a good place to host a special event. Feel free to check it out.
Area 53: Paintball
The arena is epic for the next level of fun experience with family or friends. Their prices start from $38 on weekdays and $48 on weekends. Moreover, the costs cover paint, a paintball marker, and a paintball mask.
Other additional equipment, such as extra paint, protective vests, and coverall suits, come at an extra fee. That said, it’s time to get yourself a team or a solo deathmatch for the games.
There is so much fun in here. The arena is 20 000 square feet, and all that room is for creating fun!
I loved how they don’t fake things. You will face real-life obstacles and hazards, and that’s where the real fun comes in. Plus, you can get the high or low grounds.
Either way, running up and down and shooting your “enemies” is crazy and interesting. You will love it!
Furthermore, they have an arcade where you can chill during the breaks and enjoy other games, such as air hockey or basketball.
Each game session lasts 3 hours. That’s long enough to burn some calories and play the hero. However, the games are recommended for people above 12 years as they can get rough. The games are many, including team deathmatch, king of the hill, lights out, and capture the flag.
Each session has at least 3 games, and there can only be 3 groups with players up to 30 per group. There are breaks between the games, as each last around 10 minutes.
The 10 minutes can be short or long, depending on the game, and you can end up a hero or get “killed” in a shout-out.
The paintball accepts walk-ins, but I recommend booking for a better experience. Only $1 is required per person to book, and if you don’t make it, you can reschedule the reservation for a late date by contacting the team at Area 53.
Plus, ensure to arrive 30 minutes before time to allow set-up and instructions.
Area 53: Adventure Park
The adventure park has so many activities to try out. Each booking comes with 3 hours to rotate between your favorite activities, including a ropes course, rock climbing, ninja course, skating, slides, laser maze, arcade, and battle team.
Their prices start at $42 per person on weekdays and $54 on weekends. Other equipments such as the skates get rented for $5, but if you have yours, the better.
While most areas are accessible to all, a weight limit of 300lbs is favored. Past that, some places will not be accessible. $1 is required per person to book your space, and the balance gets paid on arrival. No walk-ins for the adventure pack are allowed. You must book your time slot from the website.
Moreover, every Tuesday is an adult Tuesday night. Only adults 21+ years are allowed. There is so much to enjoy. At the same time, every Wednesday is a double fun night.
Arrival should be 30 minutes before the booked time, and they recommend coming with toed shoes for your safety. There is a lot to do, and nice shoes guarantee that you enjoy it all without getting hurt.
Moreover, there is a seating area to enjoy food and drinks. However, cleaning is upon the team, and leftovers can attract a cleaning fee. Area 53 is home to all fun.
The adventure pack is a must-visit while in Williamsburg, and whether you choose to tag your friends or family, you will love the fun and experience.
