14 Best Lounges In NYC Of 2023 (Mainly In Brooklyn)

Due to the covid19, most cities have gone dead but not Brooklyn in New York City, “The city that never sleeps.” Brooklyn still boasts of parties and incredible nightlife.

However, of course, there are measures put into place in response to Covid. This means you will have fun and still be safe as long as you abide by the rules.

Being a tourist in Brooklyn, you will not experience the full beauty of Brooklyn, the culture, food, drinks, and the good people without visiting the famous Brooklyn lounges.

Ranging from lounges that serve the best cocktails, rooftop lounges guarantee a beautiful view of Brooklyn, one of the boroughs of New York City.

1. Nowadays

This listening bar boasts fantastic food, board games, and a wide range of whiskeys, mezcals, beer, wine, cocktails, and nonalcoholic drinks.

The thing that makes Indoors at Nowadays stand out most, like most listening bars, is the sound systems.

The systems have been carefully thought out, and together with the fantastic, relaxed interior decor, you are guaranteed to experience the time of your life.

The music here will make you tear up with emotions if not go to the dance floor.

Indoors at The Nowadays Lounge is spacious with big windows and houseplants. Therefore you can bring your whole family here to have a good time.

What I look forward to the most at Indoors is the Planetarium. This is offered on Sunday nights where there is perfect music, and you are allowed to camp on the dance floor with blankets, sleeping bags, and pillows for hours.

You can come alone or with friends, but you are not allowed to talk. Just enjoy the music for the perfect 5 hours.

2. Paul’s Cocktail Lounge

Contact: +1 212-519-6600

Paul Cocktail lounge was founded by Paul Sevigny, who is a famous DJ in New York City. This magnificent lounge is found in The Roxy.

What I love most about Paul’s Cocktail lounge, well second after the fantastic cocktails, is the elegance of this location.

Paul’s Cocktail is one of the most exclusive locations in Manhattan.

If you want to have a taste of elegance and class, visit Paul’s Cocktail. The heavenly cocktails are served on elegant silver trays.

The service providers are hospitable, and as soon as you see them, you will be sure that the service you will receive is out of this world.

The staff members are dressed in designer uniforms that are beach-inspired. The legendary Chloe Sevigny designed these uniforms.

The interior of Paul’s cocktails is also quite interesting. The walls have a hibiscus hand-painted wallpaper, and there are marble and patterned mirrors that are joined with raspberry and emerald. There is also art on the wall that painter Josh Smith did.

Paul’s cocktail lounge usually operates on Monday through Thursday from 8 am to 10 pm. It goes for an extra hour on Friday and Saturday, but it closes at 9 pm on Sunday.

Paul’s lounge is closed for now due to Covid, but you can make reservations at the Roxy bar. Check their website regularly to know when they shall open it again.

5. The Box

What I love about lounges in Brooklyn is how much they have evolved. Lounges are not just mere lounges but a home for art.

The Box is one of these locations. If you desire a chilled environment with a theatrical vibe, the Box should do it.

However, if you want a place where you will get into the dance floor and enjoy the best drinks and food, then The Box wouldn’t cut it for you.

The Box is known for more. The performance will leave you wanting more.

Do not go with your parents or kids here. The performances could have a bit of nudity here and there.

Book the VIP area if you can afford it since the view here is perfect. You will witness different types of performance from martial arts, acrobatic performers, nude dancing, to mention but a few.

You can make reservations from their website. This spot opens at 11 pm and the shows start at 1 am. Dress to impress.

8. Le Bain

Location: The Standard, High Line, 848 Washington St, New York, NY 10014, United States

Le bain is another fantastic rooftop bar and lounge. It belongs to Standard High Line. Getting into this lounge is quite hard as the security at the door is quite tight.

But this struggle is worth it because the experience at Le Bain is one of the best in New York City.

Due to covid, there is a seated-only policy, meaning there will be no overcrowding; therefore, you should make reservations to ensure you do not miss a table.

The music here is terrific, and the lounge has many world-famous DJs. This means however much you frequent this location; you are guaranteed a different and diverse kind of music.

The cocktails here are to die for. I am an adventurous one with a sweet tooth. That is why lounges with the most unique and amazing cocktails are my go-to, and Le Bain is one of them.

This is one of the most oversized New York Rooftop lounges. It is exquisite with a garden and rotating carousel-style seating arrangement. It also has a mini-golf that you would enjoy if you are into golfing.

It usually has different themes, and this year, up to October 2021, the theme is Pink Rose Garden. Thousands of pink roses characterize a fantastic decor.

The brunch and dinner menus are pink rose-themed, and the cocktails are as well.

The lounge has glass walls that allow you to have a perfect view of the Manhattan skyline, The Statue of Liberty, and the Empire State Building.

Greenpoint Beer and ale co is a statement location that speaks for itself. The greenish glass water tower stands proudly atop Ed Raven’s legendary brewery.

Despite the brewery closing in 2018, it came back as a force to be reckoned with two years later. It increased production up to four times.

13. Avant Gardner

Location:140 STEWART AVE, BROOKLYN, NY 11237

On such days I know there is nowhere else to go partying except Avant Gardner.  This is a giant space of 80000 square feet and is located in East Williamsburg.

It has four event spaces where you are guaranteed to have fun wherever you sit. This spot celebrates culture in a big way, and you will marvel at the audio-visual features.

Avant Gardner complex spaces include The Great Hall, The Lost Circus, The Brooklyn Mirage, and The King’s Hall.

The Brooklyn Mirage is an open-air sanctuary, and you will find it at the center of the complex.

It is simply breathtaking. It is surrounded by tall walls and has evergreen plants bringing a “gardeny” vibe.

You will also see exciting video projections that characterize the new york culture. The food here is fantastic, and fortunately or unfortunately, the menu keeps changing.

The drinks are incredible too. Take advantage of this spot now since it only opens during summer.

The Great Hall has an industrial aesthetic and is quite massive. There are lots of moving lights that characterize the space and make it more elegant. In addition, it has a beautiful dance floor. You can check it out.

The Kings Hall feels like a palace to me because of its warmth and elegance. It is intimate, has excellent lighting and a massive chandelier.

There is a lovely dance floor where you can dance till you break your bones if you may. You will also get to see outstanding performances.

14. 1Oak

Final word

NYC Lounges are unique. If you want the whole experience of the New York nightlife, then you have to do it in Brooklyn. From the flashlights to the fantastic decor, this world’s service and the fantastic performances, the experimental cocktails, craft beer, and fantastic food, I guarantee you will have an experience you will never forget.

However, you should pay attention to the Covid nightlife rules to ensure you are safe. All the above lounges that are still open ensure you adhere to the guidelines.

Make sure you know the rules ahead of time because you might not be allowed to get in. Below are the rules that are common in all the lounges:

  1. Wear a mask upon arrival. You do not have to have it on while seated but ensure you have it on every time you leave the table.
  2. No large groups allowed. The maximum number will depend on the lounge.
  3. Most locations have no dancefloor.
  4. They will check your temperature upon arrival.
  5. You will sanitize upon arrival.
  6. Check the lounge’s website on the hours of operations as there are restrictions on hours of operations.

Visit these fantastic lounges and have the best time of your life.
